Projects

Five projects. Four grew out of my final year at James Madison University, and the fifth is this site. The employers, dates and courses behind them are on my resume.

ACC Timebank

Spring 2026 · lead developer · Google Apps Script, Google Sheets

A time-banking system for the Alachua Community Collective, a Florida mutual-aid group whose members trade hours of work instead of money. I was lead developer on the fast, low-cost track and did most of the requirements gathering across the engagement. Our team, Purple Peak Consulting, received the KPMG Choice Award for Best Overall System. It appears on my resume as the Quick Hit Timebank System.

Ethical Hacking Lab Course

Spring 2026 · JMU · VirtualBox, Kali Linux, Metasploit, Nessus

A semester of hands-on security labs inside an isolated virtual network I built for the purpose: a Kali Linux machine and a Windows target on a private adapter with no route to the outside, so nothing could touch anything real. The labs covered defense in depth, keylogger detection, social engineering, PGP, hash-based integrity checks, and a Nessus vulnerability scan whose deliverable was a triaged, prioritized set of fixes rather than raw findings.

BRHS Cybersecurity Risk Assessment

Spring 2026 · co-author · NIST CSF 2.0, CIS Controls v8

A consulting report for Blue Ridge Health Services, a fictional healthcare provider written for the assignment: identify the weaknesses, rank them, and recommend hardening a real budget could absorb. We assessed two frameworks, NIST's Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Controls v8, against the client before picking one, which meant learning both in depth. NIST fit better: its outcome-based structure could be shaped around a hospital's workflow, where a fixed checklist would have fought it. This was coursework, and the method is the part that carries over.

Capsim Business Simulation

Spring 2026 · strategic management · R&D

A College of Business simulation in which a cross-functional team runs a company over multiple rounds, setting pricing, R&D, marketing and production each round and carrying the results into the next. My teammates were marketing, management and accounting majors, and I ran R&D, revising our product designs each round to keep them inside the shifting buying criteria for our segments. Working alongside three other disciplines was the point: it taught me how a technical decision reads to the people who have to sell, staff and account for it.

This site

2026 · ongoing · Astro, Cloudflare Pages, GitHub Actions

A static site on Astro, hosted on Cloudflare Pages, with DNS and TLS I manage myself. Every push runs a build in GitHub Actions, and a branch rule blocks anything from reaching the main branch unless that build passes. The repository is public and carries a decision log with a written reason for every choice in it, including the ones I reversed.
